National Truck Driver Appreciation Week is September 10-16, 2017

TCA Wellness, powered by Rolling Strong and our fleet of CDL Wellness Coaches, is promoting health across the country during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. If you bought it, a truck likely brought it. This is commonly known amongst drivers, but unfortunately not always recognized enough by the rest of us. TCA Wellness and Rolling Strong appreciate all the men and women delivering our goods day in and day out to keep the country going. We also care about your health and safety on the road.

Whether drivers have been on the road three months or 30 years, nutrition, fitness, and sleep are the spokes that keep a driver rolling strong. Fuel and maintenance keep your trucks running efficiently, so treat your body like you treat your truck. Keep your body fueled with proper hydration, healthy snacks and nutritious food. Know your wellness numbers and when your system is due for a check-up (DOT Physical).

As part of National Truck Driver Appreciation Week, CDL Wellness Coaches are conducting health screenings across the country in partnership with various TA-Petro locations. Last year Rolling Strong CDL Wellness Coaches provided onsite health screenings and coaching to drivers at six TA-Petro locations across the country. This year Rolling Strong will have CDL Wellness Coaches providing onsite health screenings and coaching to drivers at eight TA-Petro locations across the country throughout National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. All locations except the TA Hebron, Ohio, location have a Stay Fit gym. The TA Hebron, Ohio, location does have bean bag toss and horseshoe pits. All locations will be raffling off a FIT System to drivers who stop by and have a basic health screening and coaching session. If you are in the Ontario, California, area stop by to see Rolling Strong Founder and COO Bob Perry, the Trucker Trainer, for a FIT System demo in partnership with Freightliner.

Drivers face health challenges daily. Ask yourself “When was the last time I was in the shop for routine maintenance or check?” Don’t wait for the engine light to turn on; be proactive and get in the shop before you get stuck on the side of the interstate. Some drivers say they don’t have time to exercise, shop for quality food, or take the time to wind down and get a good night’s rest. We say, yes, you can. Invest time in your health; it will keep you running longer and at a constant speed. Here is the bottom line: you will make money as a driver. However, what is the point of making money if you’re not well enough to spend it?
